WHAT SHOULD I BRING FOR MY TRIP TO COSTA RICA?

Because of Costa Rica's many micro-climates, it can be hard figuring out what to pack!  Depending on your activities and locations, below is a list that may help you figure out what to bring!   Lightweight items that dry quickly are a

big plus-especially if you'll be doing laundry on your trip.   Key tip:  luggage with straps as the roads (or lack of) make "roller bags" hard to get around.  Another tip:  Bandanas-they are multi-functional and quick dry...pack a few!


FOR DAYTIME HIKING TOURS

  • Closed toe shoes that can get wet & have good traction (Keens = perfect, with the toes covered & protected = best)
  • Camera
  • Binoculars
  • Waterproof Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat 
  • Bug spray
  • Bandana or sweat towel
  • Poncho or rain jacket 
  • Day pack/small backpack


FOR NIGHT TOURS

  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Closed toe shoes that can get wet & have good traction                                                                                                                            (Keens = perfect, with the toes covered & protected = best))
  • Camera
  • Bug spray
  • Bandana or small quick dry towel
  • Poncho or rain jacket


FOR BOAT TOURS

  • Waterproof Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat 
  • Bathing Suit
  • Cover-Up/T-Shirt
  • Flip flops/sandals
  • Towel


FOR WATER SPORT TOURS (WWRR, Waterfall Rapelling, etc)

  • Waterproof Sunscreen
  • GoPro or waterproof camera must be HANDS FREE (There is a photographer to take your photos                                                    for purchase-totally worth it!)
  • Sunglasses (only if they have straps)
  • Clothes to get wet in
  • Shoes that can get wet & have straps (flip flops not allowed on these trips)
  • Towel
  • Day pack (to bring towel & a set of dry clothes for after)
